This is the 4th National Men In The Early Years Conference. It will take place at the Abbey Centre in central London (nearest tube Westminster) on 4 September.
This will be the first MITEY conference to feature a ministerial address, from Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Children and Families, Nadhim Zahawi MP - a real sign that our agenda is now recognised as important at the highest level of government.
There's a growing sense that we need more men working in early years education; a stronger understanding of why they matter; and new ideas about how to make it happen. Our fantastic line-up of speakers and workshop presenters will include:
Gina Rippon, Professor of Cognitive Neuroimaging at Aston University, and author of The Gendered Brain: The new neuroscience that shatters the myth of the 'female brain' (recently named as one of the best books of 2019 so far, by The Guardian).
Dr Jo Warin, lead investigator on the University of Lancaster/Fatherhood Institute GenderEYE (Gender Diversification in Early Years Education) study, which is exploring and reshaping the UK's thinking on men in the early years, and author of Men In Early Childhood Education and Care.
June O'Sullivan MBE, a long-standing advocate for men in the sector and CEO of London Early Years Foundation, an award-winning social enterprise that runs 37 nurseries in the capital
Dr Jeremy Davies, project lead, The MITEY Campaign, Head of Communications at the Fatherhood Institute and Co-investigator on the GenderEYE study
David Wright, leading men-into-early-years advocate, founder of Southampton Men in Early Years Network and co-author (with Simon Brownhill) of Men In Early Years Settings: Building a Mixed-Gender Workforce.
Dr Helen Perkins of Wolverhampton University, whose work reveals how young children think about the gender of the people who educate and look after them
Georgina Phillips from the Gender Action Schools Award programme and Caren Gestetner from Lifting Limits.
Plus representatives from local MITEY networks around the UK.
Please note: this is a FREE EVENT. It will be a fantastic opportunity to network, share your ideas and experiences, get involved with the MITEY campaign and help us move our agenda to the next level from 2020 onwards.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes please. Although the event is free, we have to be strict on numbers, so we need proof that you have a reserved place.
Can I buy multiple tickets?
To avoid people reserving a bunch of places on others’ behalf, and then not turning up, please reserve only a maximum of 2 tickets.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Tickets are free, but your name must appear on our list, and you must bring your printed ticket on the day.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
If you have reserved a place and want to transfer it to another person, please arrange this in advance; you can contact us via the MITEY website.
