Join Helen Griffin, author of ‘Gender Equality in Primary Schools, A Guide for Teachers’ for a series of four online workshops.
The course aims to develop together a clearer understanding of a whole school approach to gender equality which includes:
– Considering their own role as teachers in promoting gender equality through language use, relationships and classroom resources
– Considering the physical environment of the school
– Considering the taught and hidden curriculum
– Engaging children in questioning their own assumptions and biases in dialogue with each other.
Interim tasks will be provided between the workshops to enable development and sharing of practice.

Session 1: Introducing gender equality
Session 2: Digging deeper: using Philosophy for Children to explore gender equality with pupils
Session 3: Widening support: further support for implementing gender equality
Session 4: Concluding thoughts and action planning

Session dates: all sessions are 4.30pm – 6pm
