Course Aims
In this 90 minutes interactive webinar we will be discussing issues around gender, society and power. We want you to consider and identify how these issues relate to you in your educational setting; including the impact of gender stereotyping, sexual harassment and subject choices.
Using a whole-school approach we will explore how you and your setting can become advocates for gender equity by addressing school policies, curriculum planning and teacher education.
At the end of this session you will have a greater understanding of the issue and impact of gender stereotyping and sexism in schools. You will be able to identify how Gender Action could support you, ask questions and reflect on the impact that gender stereotyping has had in your setting so you are ready to take action.
This session will introduce the six Focus Areas and how to progress writing your school Action Plan. You will identify an area of focus (e.g., parent engagement). From there you will begin to plan and write action plans and set goals to pinpoint how you will address this area.
